Trying to resurrect a WD Caviar SE16 500GB. Nothing too important on there but I figured it's worth a try. I assume the board died although there is no visible damage -- there were never any odd noises from the drive and it seems to still spin up normally.

Model: WD5000AAKS-00YGA0

Date: 26 SEP 2007

DCM: DARNNT2CAB

Number on PCB label: 2061-701477-900 AB

I don't know exactly how similar the DCM has to be in order for it to work, if that has been discussed please point it out to me (in the meantime I will keep digging through old posts). |

If your drive spins up, your PCB should be fine.

You have problems inside hdd. _________________ www.datarecoveryne.com |
