Anybody know what DCM stands for, anyway?

already tried with a non-DCM matching drive, and it didn't work.

Let me know. Post here.

Thanks,

				I have a working:

MDL: WD800JB - 00FSA0

DATE 16 Dec 2003

DCM: ESBHCTJCH

and i'm looking for a:

MDL: WD1600BB - 00DWA0

DATE: 01 Dec 2003

DCM: HSBHCTJAH

I may try putting my working 80 onto my dead 160 just to see if it works, otherwise I'm open to ideas. |

it wont work and if you try your other hard drive logic board

you got more chance in damaging the information on the platter

you must match the right pcb board number under the side

which is a normal white sticker

that is the firmware of the drive

if you dont match it the drive would work in the bios

but no information can be recovered as the data is wrong

good luck in trying |
