Hallo All :
new guy here - and Mac user - contact with Seagate - HD covered under warranty - but not firmware issue am told - firmware SN04- one day worked - next day no - still spins just does not recognize - or boot in 2 different computers and hard case
wish to get the data off drive before I send in for warranty - any one care to suggest something ? if still spins is a good sign yes?
Seagate Cuda' ES.2 500 Gb ST3500320NS s/n 9QM0FX7T
hoping to do this myself as money is lean here - if possible

hi,
does it still spin up with normal sounds? if you want to know it easy. you can get a USB-TTL connect with hard drive and open terminal see what show up. i can handle this kind of case. please contact me by email or MSN if need help.

cheers for the reply - HD spins and sounds normal for about 5 seconds - then silent and spins
inside other Mac machine or hard case - as above sounds like its reading for 5 sec - then just spins silent - neither recognizes
as mentioned - I am low on funds so at now looking to see what all i can do to get the datat
