If you can describe the failure symptom, one of us may be able to help you repair your board. Many times the problem is only a shorted diode, in which case it can simply be removed.

In your case I would test the diodes near the SATA power connector. If you need more help, feel free to ask.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply.

This drive was spoiled by external power supply for SATA adaptor to USB. (here the pic: http://www.compusb.com/lib/compusb/power-supply-for-sata-adapter-to-usb.jpg)
No matter how I try with several PSU, the drive still doesn't be energized and work.

And I don't familiar with repairing a PCB, could someone give me some guides please?

Any help would be appreciated.

Use a multimeter on the 200 ohms range to test the components in the photo clip:
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/HDD/HDT721010SLA360_TVS.jpg

If you don't have a multimeter, a digital one should only cost you US$10.

I suspect that your 5V TVS diode is shorted.

Once you have found the faulty diode, you can snip it out with flush cutters. If there is no other damage, the drive will work without it, but it will no longer have overvoltage protection on the affected supply rail, so be absolutely sure your power supply is OK.

hi,

The drive spin up correctly, no strange noise.
The PCB is not exactly the same (a little smaller at the bottom)
