Hi first post, my hard drive is totally dead Sad

I had a power cut in the house which is most likely what cause it to fail on me.

The hard drive does nothing! so do you think its the logic board?

I am hoping my data is still in tacked because i need it !!

I bought a replacement logic board from softcom, a M6FYA which is and hoping a direct swap for my current one as the part numbers are the same and also the chip number Ardent C8-C1

is this true.

Bloody Maxtors are rubbish from what i've read. if i get my data back i'm switching brand

Did you try that board yet?
There should not be any problem doing it.

P.S. Just curious, if you won't get your data back, you will continue using Maxtor?
