My Western Digital HD is no longer being recognized by my PC. Having been laid off for nearly 3 months now, I'm trying to rescue the data as cheaply as possible-- it's many pictures of my kids.

I understand you can swap out the PCB if it's a close enough match.

I saw a WD hard drive on ebay, with a PCB # very similar:

2061-701292-C00 AH. But the DCM # is somewhat different:

My DCM: DBBHNTJCHN
His DCM: HSBHCTJCHN

How close does it need to be?

If this won't work, does anyone have one that's an exact match?
