When my system boots with the failing drive as a slave, my drive is shown in the BIOS. By the time I get booted either by CD or into Windows, the drive is no longer available. Does this sound like a PCB replacement will help me recover my files?

Thanks. |

It's hard to say with the information given, but I would have to say that the chances of it being PCB are highly unlikely. This is a internal issue. I would recommend NOT powering on the drive anymore at all until you can get it to a professional.

I may be able to help, but it will cost (if the data is recoverable)
